Lack of authenticity. While everyone realizes that candidates can’t write every update on Facebook or every tweet on Twitter, the candidate must actively engage on a regular basis on at least one Social Media channel. As the campaign heats up, this needs to happen on a daily basis. People crave connection to their candidates, and it pays off. You don’t have to visit every small town multiple times in order to connect with them. Get a Smartphone regardless of your technological neanderthalism and practice with friends and family before connecting with your constituents. Learn from their feedback.
